Delivery FAQs
When will I receive my order?
We will call you to organise a suitable delivery day for you. This is usually within 3-5 working days of placing your order but may be longer during busy periods.
I need to know the time the delivery will arrive, can I organise delivery for a specific time?
Once you have provided us with your phone number on checkout, we will call you to arrange a delivery date and time that suits you.
What if I am not home when delivery is attempted?
If you cannot be at home at the time that our driver is due to deliver, we will take the goods back to the local depot. Please bear in mind that both redelivery and cancellations may incur an administration fee.
If I specify a safe place to leave my order, can it be left there without signature?
However, if you let us know when ordering that you won't be at home at the time of the delivery, you can specify the exact location along with clear instructions on where we can safely leave your order. You can do this in the 'Additional Delivery Details' textfield on checkout. Please note that if the driver arrives and finds that the place you have specified is not suitable or safe for the order to be left, we may cancel the delivery.
How is delivery made?
On the day of delivery your order will be delivered on a pallet by a lorry with a tail lift at the rear. The pallet is moved with a pallet trolley from the tail lift platform onto the ground. Providing the surface is hard and flat, such as concrete, the driver will usually be able to move the pallet a short distance, such as into your garage. Palletised delivery is officially a ‘kerbside’ service, however, and therefore it is at the driver’s discretion as to how far it will be moved.
Are their circumstances where a palletised delivery cannot be made?
Yes. A pallet cannot be delivered:
- Onto soft ground such as grass, gravel, or soil.
- To a premises where it is illegal for a lorry to park or offload.
- Where the surface of the access road is very unstable, soft or muddy.
- Where the access road is on a steep incline or too narrow for a van to fit through.
It is your responsibility to ensure that there is safe and clear access for our delivery vehicle. If we arrive at your address and face one of the conditions above, the driver may decide to cancel the delivery, and this may incur a cancellation fee to cover the cost of dispatching and returning your order to our central warehouse. If you are unsure as to whether your location is suitable for a palletised delivery, please email us hello@thelogshed.ie to discuss.
